Kratie Province

Sunset in Kratié ProvinceKratié is one of Cambodia’s eastern provinces with less population, who make their lives on the riverbanks of the Mekong. Beyond the riverbanks it is a remote place with almost no population and thick-forested areas to calm down. The provincial capital is also called Kratié and lies also on the banks of the mighty Mekong River, which emboss the province from the North to the South.

Koh Kong

Koh Kong is the most southwestern province of Cambodia. It is one of the biggest provinces in the whole country with a long undeveloped coastline and a mountainous, forested and largely inaccessible interior, which embraces part of the Cardamom Mountains, the biggest coherent rainforest of Southeast Asia. Its tourist attractions include abundant wildlife; big waterfalls and casinos on the border to Thailand, while an Export Processing Zone and new port facilities are being developed for international trade.

Modulkiri Province

Mondulkiri is an eastern province of Cambodia, which is the most sparsely populated province in the whole country although being the largest province in Cambodia. The province is chock full of natural beauty, with thickly forested mountains, powerful waterfalls and the lush green rolling hills of the western side.

Battambang Province

Battambang province is located in the northwest bordering Thailand. With its 11,622 km², Battambang has a population of 899,556 comprising 430,443 males and 459,088 females. The percentage of females’ population is 51%. The province consists of 13 districts, 96 communes and 741 villages. The population of this province constitutes 6.9% of Cambodia’s population.

Kampot Province

Situated in the central of Cambodia, Kompong Thom is a pleasant country town where visitors can have plenty of activities. The town is well situated as a crossroad to the important sights of Angkor temple complex, Prea Vihear Temple, and the ancient capital of Sombor Prey Kuk. The town has a nice layout and is situated on the banks of the Sen Rive, which is a long, winding body of water that originates in the Dangrek Mountains.

Kep Province

Kep is a seaside tourist city  located 173 kilometers southwest of Phnom Penh. Visitors from Phnom Penh take the National Road 3 via Kampot Province or National Road 2 via Takoa Province. In addition, the train form Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville stops at the Damnak Canng Eur Station, about 7 kilometers from the city, foreigners coming from Vietname or Sihanoukville to the Kep City Port.

Rattanakiri Province

Beung Yeak Laom is located in Yeak Laom commune, Ban Loung district, about 5 kilometers south of Ban Loung provincial town. A lake in the middle of a mountain, it was formed many centuries ago from volcano. The lake is about 800 meters in diameter  and 48 meters deep during about dry season. The water is clear and suitable for swimming.

Preah Vihear Province

The lion statue in front of the third temple of Preah VihearSituated midway between east and west and far to the north, straddling the borders of Laos and Thailand, Preah Vihear is Cambodia’s most remote province. Tbeng Meanchey town sits near the banks of the Sen River which originates in the Dangrek Mountains, and continues its long journey east and south going through KOmpong Thom town, finally ending up in the Great Lake Tonle Sap. With its 14.031sq.km area and population of 137,485, comprising 68,414 males and 69,071 females. The province consists of 7 districts, 49 communes and 208 villages.
